After a 16 hour flight from Taipei, jet lag and visa complications I finally find my self at ISMB2005 in Detroit. For those of you who are not familiar with ISMB or the Intelligent Systems for Molecular Biology Conference, it is the worlds largest Bioinformatics conference.
So far the we are into the second day of special interest group meetings. I am attending the Alternative Splicing meeting however the organizers have let people attend sessions from any of the groups. There has been a few great talks and some interesting discussion from yesterday's session, however I simply didn't have the mental energy to post any of my notes from those talks to nodalpoint (I'll try to add them over the next few days).
I'm now in business, with the Drupal image gallery set up and of course sufficient sleep. I am not putting all of the ISMB posts on the front page, if you want to follow the conference via the website then checkout the ISBM2005 category, I just added the first post on The BioOntologies panel discussion (spelling and typos included).
If there are any nodalpoint readers attending ISMB2005 who would like to meet let me know via email or in the comments.
