This is the first time I see bioinformatics tools helping people working with information technology problems. After years of one way traffic in knowledge sharing it might be that bioinformatics is producing useful general tools :) great stuff

Fascinating

Very interesting story - as you say, we don't see a lot of the "reverse flow" from biology to computer science. Hopefully this go some way to a better integration of the disciplines - I still find that biologists and computer scientists have very different ideas of what comprises "bioinformatics".
