Although it is not personal db, but firefox extencion, foxylicious can map link data in del.icio.us into local book mark folder(can be nested) of firefox.
(need to use 0.3 from http://dietrich.ganx4.com/foxylicious/, 0.2 is buggy)

that age-old problem

I did a little edit to fix the Hublog link.

I would need to play with such a service to be convinced (or otherwise) of its worth. What I still long for is a way to store, search, cite and retrieve my own citations from my personal database on my machine, under Linux. Nothing I've tried has come close to doing what I want, though I see potential in RefDB, and I can see I'm going to have to build it myself one day.

Delicious science

It had to happen sooner or later, del.icio.us for science: CiteULike (via Hublog). Create libraries of scientific papers using your own tag based classification system. How long until we get an API?
