The Twenty-First National Conference on Artificial Intelligence (AAAI-06) is currently underway in Boston, Massachoosits. As I'm here I'll try and blog stuff thats interesting and relevant in Artificial Intelligence (AI) to a Bioinformatics (BI) audience. Not just A to B, but AI to BI and back again...How about a nodalpoint meetup while we're at it?
Are there any nodalpointers (readers or writers) out there in Boston, MA? There is a special track on AI and the Web this year which includes some semantic web stuff. If you can, come along to the conference and meetup. If you can't make it to the conference, the Dubya3C Health Care and Life Sciences Interest Group (HCLSIG) are also planning to meetup, come along for a beer Tuesday night (July 18th 2006). I'll post further details if anyone expresses an interest or you can email me direct. Confirmed so far: Joanne Luciano (BioPAX), John Wilbanks (Science Commons), Chrisotopher Brewster and yours truly. Hopefully we'll get a few other New Englanders to come along too; maybe Alan Ruttenberg and Jeremy Zucker (BioPAX), Sean Martin (LSID and IBM Life Sciences) and others.
Anyway, everyone is welcome, semantic webheads, academic, commercial, AI and BI. Hopefully see you there if you're in Boston.

Might pop in.
Hey Duncan, Tueasdays are a little hectic for me, but I'll try to pop in. Where are things going down?
HCLSIG / nodalpoint meetup
We will be in the Barking Crab from 6.30pm...
If you can't make that, there is a drinks reception at 6pm today (Monday) in the World Trade Center to open the conference.
Ahh...
Sorry to have missed it Duncan. Things spun slightly out of control on Tuesday, so it was a no-go. Some other time?
later
Yes, some other time...
Alas, I am still marooned on
Alas, I am still marooned on the beautiful isle, so I will not be in attendance. Please let us know how the meet-up goes (what are the burning issues...), or more likely you can tell us about the expected debauchery that goes on at international scientific conferences, I mean, it isn't just the ones *I* go to is it ?
